Call Family Christmas Party

Today was our annual Call Family Christmas party.  I was so excited because it has felt like forever since I have seen Alisha and her family and we had planned some special, matching t-shirts for our husbands to wear.  They were actually pretty excited about it too and we had a great time eating, seeing Santa, and catching up with everyone.

It is crazy to think how much has changed with all of us in just a year, but those changes have really made me cherish these moments with family more and more.  I am so thankful for every single one of them!

Dear Santa, I hope that you have a Blogger account and see this picture of my family cleaning the church at 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning - Oops! How did our Christmas list get in the picture? I am sooooooo embarrassed!

Poor Wendy

I received a call from Wendy's school today telling me she had gotten hurt at recess and since school would be out in a half hour anyway I decided to go and pick her up.  When I went into the office this is how I found her.  She had been running to the doors and smacked her head into a pole.  She had quite the bump!  We thanked the secretary for taking such good care of her, checked her out, and headed into her classroom to grab her backpack.  As soon as we walked through the door several kids from her class came to give her coloring pages and hugs wondering if she was okay.  It was adorable.  After we left she just hugged me and thanked me for coming to get her and I promised her that I would always be there when she needed me.  It was a special moment.

 

Emily's Christmas Choir Concert

Emily's choir at school put on a Christmas concert tonight and it was such a joy to watch.  She really stepped out of her comfort zone and auditioned, and was chosen, for a trio part in one of the songs.  She did an amazing job!

No School

Well, it took all of my wife magic but I did it.  I wished for it so hard that I actually made it happen.  The temperature outside dropped down so low that I got the glorious morning call letting me know that school was indeed cancelled!  It was so exciting that I was even able to talk LeeRoy in from staying home from work.  We truly had the best day hanging out in our pajamas, playing games, and watching movies.
