Draper

Emily's second dance competition of the season was fast and fun.  Wendy stayed with my parents so just LeeRoy, Emily, and I drove down for the weekend.  It was great getting some one on one time with her.  The competition was fun.  Downtown did amazing and Iko and Show both took 1st place in their categories as well as Show getting the overall award for showmanship.

 

Roy Competiton

This last weekend was the first dance competition of the season in Roy, Utah.  It was a long one but the girls were great!  They took 1st place in every category, received a specialty award for execution and energy, and took the overall high point awards for both their lanes!  It was so fun to be able to watch them dance and cheer them on!

I was especially excited to see them perform their show number - I Wanna Rock!  Emily had practiced a lot at home but I had never seen any other part of it.  They were the last performance of the night and they just blew me away.  Emily was a little nervous at first but once they finished she said she had so much fun!  We are already looking forward to more competitions in the weeks to come!

Dino NIght

Wendy's school hosted a Dino Night for all the students and Wendy was so excited because her teacher told her to invite her whole family, even grandparents so she called and invited them.  Only Lacie and Grandma were able to come but she was so happy to show them all around her school.  We participated in a lot of dinosaur themed activities and she showed us how much she has learned in school.  It was also nice to see her saying hi and hugging all her different friends.  I love it when I get a chance to peek in the world they live in outside of home and family.

 

Emily's 1st Sleepover

Emily had her very first sleepover last night.  We usually don't do them but her friend's family was going to be out of town for the weekend and she couldn't go because of dance practice so we took her in for the night.  The girls had a ton of fun together.  As soon as they came home from school they insisted on making their own snacks.  They put together crazy concoctions that consisted of sugar, pretzels, nutella, and fruit roll-ups.  Wendy loved it!  Before going to bed they turned Emily's room into a giant fort to sleep in.  They spent a lot of time laughing and talking but thankfully weren't too tired to get up and go to practice the next morning.

 

April Fools Day

For April Fools day this year LeeRoy and I wanted to do something really fun for the kids.  We sealed up their bedroom doors, except for the top, with a plastic tablecloth and filled it all the way up with balloons.  When the girls opened their doors in the morning all the balloons fell on top of them.  They loved it!  Now we just have to have a balloon popping party!  Wendy even got into the spirit of the holiday by placing a fake spider she made herself on my computer chair.  She laughed so hard when I jumped and screamed!

For dinner we at at the "Crazy Cafe"  LeeRoy and the girls had to order from a coded menu and I was the waitress.  Wendy got lucky and received dessert first.  LeeRoy didn't get a fork until last so he was stuck eating rice with a piece of bread!  It was so entertaining to laugh at each other!
