I was a little hesitant to sign Wendy up for t-ball and soccer this summer but she really did have tons of fun playing both. Last year she really had a hard time getting in there and kicking the ball. This year she did a lot better. It was really fun watching her get so excited and cheer for her teammates.

Camping
I am a little embarrassed to admit that my family has never gone camping before. The kids haven't really shown an interest in it mostly because I really haven't shown an interest in it. For some weird reason though we got the itch to go this summer so we invested in all the necessary gear, begged the Palmers to join us, and headed up Scout Mountain. We had so much fun! We relaxed, did crafts, read books, and in the evening the Call Family joined us for a delicious dutch oven dinner that LeeRoy cooked for all of us.
Once it got dark we sat around the camp fire roasting s'mores and listened to Wendy tell spooky ghost stories. Once we headed to bed LeeRoy and I debated on whether or not to put the tent cover up. He said we should but I really wanted to look at the stars before falling asleep. I won and it felt great...........until 4:30 in the morning when i awoke to raindrops falling on my face. I quickly woke LeeRoy and we stumbled outside with flashlights and tried getting the cover on as quickly as we could in the dark. Luckily, my dad heard the raindrops and came to help us. It was definitely an adventure.
The next morning after breakfast mom and I stayed behind to relax in the shade while everyone else went for a hike. Wendy was so funny! She found a walking stick and sharpened the bottom to a nice point with a rock so she could protect everyone in case they ran into a bear on their hike. After hiking a while LeeRoy, Emily, and Lorenzo got tired and headed back while Wendy and Papa kept going to the top. Wendy later told me that hiking with papa was her favorite part of camping.
We had so much fun that by the time we packed up we were kinda sad to go. Once we got home and all cleaned and unpacked it was time for bed. I came up with a great idea that we could continue our camping adventure be camping out in the living room together. So.......we pulled out all the bedding and mattresses we had just put away and made our beds. The kids loved it and it was a nice way to end the weekend!

Wendy in the Paper
I noticed on Facebook that the Morning News was asking people to submit photos of their kids doing summer sports so I sent them a couple of Wendy playing t-ball. I was very excited to see that they made it in today's paper. When I showed them to her she jumped up and down screaming, "I'm famous and I'm only six!"

Boise Trip
Over the weekend Mom and Lorenzo joined us and we headed to Boise. We were able to stop and see the Robison's on our way to and from which was really nice. I feel like I never get to see them enough! Once in Boise we ate at P.F. Chang's then headed to our hotel so we could wake up early and head to Wahooz Family Fun Park before it got to hot.
We spent the whole day there and had a blast. There were bumper boats, go-carts (LeeRoy's favorite), batting cages (my favorite), bowling (Wendy's favorite), laser tag (Emily's favorite), and tons of arcade games (Everyone's favorite). We were exhausted by the end of the day so we headed to the Melting Pot for dinner. It was delicious and took two hours for us to finish our meal. It was nice to relax and visit while we ate.
Once we got back to our hotel we went down to the pool to swim and had so much fun together. Everyone except me and my mom got tired and headed up to bed while we stayed behind and swam till about 1:30 in the morning. It was so fun but I was really sore the next day!
On Sunday we made a stop at Krispy Kreme doughnuts and the Discovery Center before heading home. It was a short but incredibly fun weekend!

Bear World
Taking the girls to Bear World has been on my list for a few summers now but we never seem to get around to it so the girls were so excited when they got invited to go with their friends and their grandparents. They said they had so much fun seeing all the bears and animals. They even got to ride rides and shop in the gift shop. It was so nice for them to be invited!

Shots!
Since Emily is heading into 6th grade the time came for her to get some shots. She was really nervous about it and since I am the best mom in the world, I let Wendy comfort and love her so I could take a picture!

Day Camp 2013
Emily attended Day Camp with the Achievement Day girls yesterday and I was so excited to be able to go and spend a few hours with them. The theme was space. They got to shoot off water rockets, do cheers, shoot guns, archery, make crafts, play with moon sand, and learn about the 1st moon landing. It was fun watching all the girls bond while having a great time!
