April Fools

We love April Fools Day at our house. In the morning before the kids woke up, LeeRoy and I quietly opened every drawer, door, and cabinet in the house. Then we turned everything we could find on. Once Emily heard the t.v. she started to get out of bed so we jumped in our closet to hide. She walked around for a while and we could hear her asking herself, "What is going on?" She must have gotten nervous because she quickly woke up Wendy and they started hunting for mom and dad. We finally jumped out and yelled, "APRIL FOOLS!" They laughed and laughed.

The best joke of the day goes to Emily. In January, she told me she needed to earn some money to buy something secret. She has done extra jobs here and there and finally earned her goal just last week. She had LeeRoy take her shopping and I never knew what she bought until today. I was eating lunch up to the table when out of the corner of my eye I see this:

I jumped out of my chair and screamed! She has been planning her joke since January! It paid off; she got me good!

We just got home from vacation so I didn't want to do anything fancy for dinner so when I saw this idea on someone else's blog I got excited. I took the family to the Crazy Cafe for dinner. I was their server and passed out the menus. They had to choose what they wanted for appetizer, main course, and dessert from a code so they weren't sure what they were ordering. It was a lot of fun. Wendy ended up with dessert first, LeeRoy didn't get a fork till last so he had to eat everything with his fingers, and Emily only got a napkin and no food to start with.

Love the spider, I would have jumped too. And the menu idea is great, I'm going to have to try it at our home.
