Emily Cox Rocks

Emily is loving 5th grade.  Especially since now she was finally able to run for student council.  She signed up as a candidate for the Vice President position.  So many kids wanted to run this year that the school decided to do preliminary elections first.  All the kids prepared speeches and gave them to the 5th graders only.  Then the 5th graders voted and the top 4 candidates for each position were chosen.  Emily was so excited to get a personal call from her teacher letting her know she had made it!  She worked so hard on poster ideas and practiced her speech over and over.  She was nervous to give it in front of the whole school but once it was over she said it was pretty fun.  Her logo was Emily Cox Rocks for Vice President and she even rocked out at the end of her speech. Wendy and I were able to go watch her give it at the school's morning assembly and she did great!  LeeRoy and I were headed out of town for the weekend but were so thrilled when she called to announce that she had won the election.  She is now a Ridge Crest Student Council Vice President.  We are so proud of her!
